Maddy McMullan, runner-up in her class of the Inter-Schools cross country that afternoon, showed no signs of tiredness - winning the women’s one-lapper by 33 seconds from Becky Watterson, who had won the opening two rounds of the series. Steven Quayle maintained his consistency with his third top-three finish in as many rounds. Schade, like several more of the younger runners in the Northern AC event, had also contested the Inter-Schools cross-country event a few hours earlier. He led the 1.5-mile sprint all the way, but was kept honest by Corbyn Schade in the latter’s league debut as he only turned 16 on November 11.
